Testimonials
Tray has never had his captivating story featured in
any of the Chicken Soup for the Soul publications. He also has never co-authored
or contributed material to these books. But he has met Jack Canfield and
Mark Victor Hansen and really liked them both. Actually, Tray shook hands
with one of them but cant remember if it was Jack or Mark.

"Press Ganey has hosted fifteen national conferences and we have never received as much positive feedback as we have in response to your presentations. Your willingness to learn about our industry and clients, and your desire to deliver an exceptional presentation exemplify outstanding professsionalism and explain the enormous impact your presentations had on conference attendees."
-Melvin Hall, Ph.D., President and CEO, Irwin Press, PH.D., Founder, Rodney Ganey, Ph.D., Founder, Press Ganey Associates
"Your presentation was fantastic and truly resonated with hospital leaders attending the conference. Your presentation style and the core of your myriad messages made an important impact and I can attest that your presentation was referenced many, many times during the balance of the conference. Thank you for raising these important issues in a way that was both intellectual and entertaining. You have certainly raised the bar for future conferences."
-M. Tina Markanda, Assist. Director, Health Care Division, The Duke Endowment.
"...At the Ohio Hospital Assoc. Annual Meeting in June 2008 I have heard nothing but the most positive remarks about your keynote program from those who attended. I am amazed that you have so many family members that were able to attend and were willing to fill out the comment forms. Seriously, your program was one of the highlights of this three day event. " (NOW There's a great idea! Bus in family members to my programs~!, mtd.)
-David Grunwell, Manager of Distance Education, Ohio Hospital Assoc.
"Your sense of humor, down-to-earth attitude, passion, energy, and of course, your singing made you our top-rated speaker for the two day event. You made us laugh and, I must tell you, that I saw several of our toughest leaders with tears in their eyes at the end of your presentation."
-Michelle Young, Director, Customer Service, Denver Children's Hospital
"Dr. Dunaway was one of the best closing speakers we've had in a long time. He not only made people laugh until they cried, but also gave them something to think about. It was the perfect ending for our Leadership Forum."
-Rosemary Blackmon, Executive Vice President/COO, Alabama Hospital Association
For anyone considering inviting M. Tray Dunaway, MD, as a speaker
for a conference or company engagement. Dont do it! We want him
all to ourselves.
-Jason Huffman, Publisher,
home health line, Rockville, MD
Your discussion of E&M coding clarified its basis, the need
to follow its rules, and the way to do it, in a manner better than
ever heard before by the medical staff. You gave us a rationale for compliance
that did not exist before your talk.
-Joseph J. Weiss, MD, FACP, Chair Cotinuing Medical Education Committee,
St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia, MI
"Dr. Dunaway was very entertaining but right on target. He addressed the issues that home care sales staff face routinely and offered real life suggestions on how to build physician relationships."
-Anne Liechty, Sr. Vice President, Almost Family/Caretenders
"Dr. Dunaway is a dynamic speaker who has a gift in delivering his message. His awareness in the challenges of “connecting the dots” between hospital boards, medical staff leadership and administration is very beneficial in his presentation to these audiences. His touch of humor adds a special flavor to his presentation."
-Dee LaJeune, RN, CNA, President & CEO, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales, LA
The greatest example of successful outcome is the memory by physicians, over one year later, of the impact on their work on the floor. With our pre-existing compliant documentation program, your success at motivating physicians has helped lead to a dramatic improvement on appropriate inpatient documentation.
-Debra K. Kellerman, Director Utilization Review, Case Management, Holy Family Hospital, Spokane, WA
Dr. Dunaway was creative, enthusiastic, engaging---a great communicator.
This program was a cant miss for every physician. The
best usable idea I gained from this program [was] the use of risk assessment
as a central part of Medical Decision Making. I plan to apply this idea
this afternoon. I liked best the integration of humor to illustrate points.
-Steven Sealise, DO, FACEP, St. Anns Hospital, Columbus, Ohio
You earned the distinct honor of being the only presenter who
received 5 (0ut of 5) ratings for every question from every
respondent! I have spent more than fifteen years in healthcare sales and
sales management, attended numerous sales conferences and listened to
countless speakers. What impressed me the most about your presentation
was that you took the time to understand our business and the specific
message that we were trying to communicate to our sales people. You delivered
that message in a way that was entertaining and fun, which will enhance
retention. In fact, I am looking forward to your participation in the
[next] Annual Conference. Bob M. Charles, VP of Sales and Marketing,
Option Care, Inc.Response to your presentation has been phenomenal.
-Betty Hall, Director Medical Records, Southeast Regional Med. Center,
Lumberton, NC
Thank you for your first class performance at our annual meeting.
It was both enlightening and entertaining. You got the highest speaker
ratings. You are making a tremendous contribution to the preservation
of rationality in the practice of medicine
. Your method may at least
mitigate some of [the] problems and reduce the hassles associated with
practicing medicine.
-Jane M. Orient, MD, Executive Director, Association of American Physicians
and Surgeons
Dr. Dunaway was superb! (He) will be a good guest speaker in
any organizations compliance/coding/billing meeting. This program
was excellent! The part I liked the best was his singing and honesty!
And how he could relate coding with more of a physicians point of
view. I will remember most his fine sense of humor!
-Eileen P. Suasi, MD, CPC, Hackensack, New Jersey
[Dr. Dunaways] outrageous sense of humor makes even the
most mundane of topics something worth listening to we promise
an evening of laughter along with valuable tools and information.
Physicians who attended your program have since been greatly inspired
to improve their documentation as a result of your unique approach to
E&M coding
.they have shown a marked increase in their interest
in the use of documentation
..having a physician suggest this idea
was just the right approach
..I cannot thank you enough for this.
-Jane Tuttle, Compliance Trainer, Partners Community Healthcare, Inc.,
Needham, MA
Dr. Dunaway wowed everyone! He kept our physician audience interested and on the edge of their seats. They loved you!.
-Sandra Gauthier, Professional Development-Director of Education, Kaiser Permanente, Atlanta, GA
